Use this chart to see the relative stability of woods commonly used in hardwood flooring.

This chart can be used to calculate the expected shrinkage or swelling of various hardwood floor materials . In practice, however, this change is diminished in a complete floor as each board’s proximity to others in a complete floor will restrain movement.
